Rachel is a third-year law student at California Western School of Law. Before attending law school, Rachel earned her B.S. in Business Management with a minor in Philosophy from San Diego State University. Prior to law school, Rachel worked at a law firm that specializes in estate planning and then in-house at a financial services company in the securities litigation and arbitration group.
During law school, Rachel has gained valuable experience working in business and intellectual property law at a transactional business law firm, as a Legal Extern to the Honorable Karen S. Crawford at the United States District Court for the Southern District, and as a Summer Associate at a full-service law firm in its Corporate & Securities practice group, where she will return post-bar. Rachel is thrilled to join New Media Rights this trimester and is excited to assist creators and entrepreneurs with their legal needs, aligning seamlessly with her passion for working at the intersection of business, technology, and the law.
Allie Miller is a third-year law student at California Western School of Law. Before law school, she earned her B.S. in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from the University of Colorado Boulder and spent three years in PR agencies, where she provided media support, developed strategic partnerships, and negotiated influencer agreements for a variety of clients and brands.
During law school, Allie gained valuable, diverse experience at a plaintiff-side consumer protection firm, the U.S. Attorney's Office Civil Division, a judicial externship with a federal magistrate judge, and a labor & employment defense firm. She is looking forward to offering legal guidance to creators & entrepreneurs, combining her public relations expertise with her legal skills. Outside of her work and studies, Allie enjoys yoga, hiking, attending concerts, and exploring new restaurants.
Carlos is a second-year law student at California Western School of Law. Before attending law school, Carlos received his B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in Law & Human Rights, and a regional focus in Latin America from the University of Oregon. After graduating, he worked at the public defender's office, and a boutique employment & labor law firm in Portland, Oregon.
Carlos is excited to combine his interests in the arts and law while working at New Media Rights. During his undergraduate studies, Carlos developed professional interests in journalism, tech, and film through extracurriculars and elective courses. While in law school, Carlos serves on the board of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association as Patent Committee Representative and works at a firm specializing in securities class actions. In his free time, Carlos enjoys hiking, reading and casually practicing his Spanish on a foreign language learning app.
Gabi is a second-year law student at California Western School of Law. Prior to entering law school, Gabi earned a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Philosophy from UC Davis. She also spent time teaching English in Mexico and working at a binational non-profit in San Diego. Gabi is thrilled to serve the New Media Rights mission and protect and empower local creatives. In her free time Gabi enjoys reading, baking, and playing basketball.
Amelia is a third-year law student at California Western School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Amelia earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy with a minor in music. She has also earned her paralegal certificate and worked as a securities litigation and business law paralegal. Since attending law school, Amelia has participated in CWSL’s Trademark Clinics where she assisted small business owners and creators file trademark applications with the USPTO on a pro bono basis. She has also interned with an estate planning firm. Amelia is excited to be a part of NMR because of her deep love and appreciation for music and the arts. She also hopes to use her interest in transactional law to assist artist, creators, musicians, and small business owners protect their valuable works. In her free time, Amelia enjoys spending time with her loved ones, cooking, watching films, and listening to and making music.
Sami is a second-year student at California Western School of Law with a BA in Political Science (Magna Cum Laude SDSU). A San Diego native, Sami has extensive experience with digital applications as a world-class gamer, a legal researcher for a major New York firm, and a scholastic mentor for underserved students.
Sami has an abiding interest in the intersection of law and technology and the myriad issues confronting creators, corporations, and consumers. Helping people navigate the exciting and hard-to-predict complexities of thriving in the digital world is extremely challenging and rewarding and Sami is excited to join the NMR team and help his clients and colleagues achieve great success and positive outcomes in a rapidly changing world. Brendan Bargmann is a second-year student at California Western School of Law. While at Cal Western, he has won multiple academic awards, worked in the Office of the Attorney General and the Superior Court, and is being published by the Virginia Journal of International Law. Brendan earned his B.A. in Political Science & International Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. Before law school, he funded successful federal campaigns, parties, and national political organizations, and he remains involved in local politics. He is excited for this opportunity to help NMR support creators, entrepreneurs, and users.
Leah is a third-year student at California Western School of Law. Before attending law school, Leah received her B.S.B.A. in Marketing and Entrepreneurship Management from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2018. In 2020, Leah received her Master’s in Sports Administration from Northwestern University. In between receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Leah worked for a variety of entertainment organizations including the Los Angeles Angels, USA Triathlon, the National Basketball Association, and the Detroit Pistons.
Leah joined New Media Rights to continue following her passions for sports, entertainment, and business law through pro bono work while enabling others to pursue their own passions.
Leah currently serves as the President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society and Vice President of the Jewish Student Union at California Western.
Cristina is a second-year law student at California Western School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Cristina received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Law from California State University, Northridge. After that, she worked in healthcare for a couple of years before landing a job with a growing San Diego law firm.
Cristina joined New Media Rights because she is passionate about making intellectual property law more accessible, and helping local creators protect their works. Apart from school, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her two sweet dogs Lucy and Leia.
Emily is a second-year student at California Western School of Law. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in broadcast journalism. Prior to law school, she worked as the Executive Producer of Digital at a television news station in San Francisco.
She’s thrilled to merge her passions for digital media and law while working at New Media Rights. She enjoys working with artists and creators to help protect their work and further their creative visions. While in law school, she works as a Teaching Fellow for Contracts and is a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new restaurants around San Diego and spending quality time with her cat, Honey.
